Adds convenienceIt is not unusual for a homeowner to wait 2 to 5 minutes for hot water to arrive at the fixture.

Saves energy and waterThe loss of water while waiting could be 3 to 7 gallons. Since most homeowners do not stand and wait for hot water to arrive, another 1 to 3 gallons may be lost before they notice hot water has arrived.
Easily installed in new or existing homesWill work with any water heating system. Installed within two hours or less on any existing or new home. Does not require major plumbing.
Return On InvestmentWill have a payback of one to three years.
Extends Water Heater LifeReduces water heating. Allows water heater to be set at 120° and still remain effective and satisfactory to user. Also, the Metlund D'MAND System creates a self-cleaning effect on all water heaters. (Unless you have a Metlund System, the self-cleaning is available from only two manufacturers of water hearers.) When the pump is activated, cold water is supplied to the water heater at a faster GPM flow so it creates a turbulence at the bottom of the water heater and thus preventing sediments from forming. This will occur on an average of 15 times a day for a short duration of a few seconds, and thus delays rusting and leaking.
Homeowners have told us for years that they have turned down their water heater to "low" since the water that gets delivered to a fixture is now hotter than before installing the Metlund D'MAND System. Water heaters are generally set, at time of installation, to temperatures of 140° to 150°. If the water heater is turned down, each 10° reduction can save between 3% to 5% on water heating costs.
